Glutathione IV infusion
What is a glutathione IV infusion?
Glutathione is a substance naturally present in the human body, made up of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. In the body, it is involved in antioxidant activity and other functions, playing a role in protection against oxidative stress and in various metabolic processes.
A glutathione IV infusion is a treatment in which glutathione is administered directly into a vein.
At our clinic, we offer glutathione IV infusions as self-pay treatment for cosmetic purposes and health maintenance.

Because the supply of glutathione preparations in Japan is not always stable, our clinic uses a glutathione preparation manufactured by TAI YU CHEMICAL & PHARMACEUTICAL, which is authorized as a pharmaceutical in Taiwan.
This preparation is a drug that has not been approved in Japan.
After an examination, the doctor will explain the treatment, possible side effects, the fact that it is a drug not approved in Japan and other matters, and will administer it only after you have understood them.

About glutathione
Glutathione is one of the main antioxidants produced in the body. It is involved in protection against oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species and other factors, and in various metabolic processes in the body.
In Japan, injectable products containing glutathione as the active ingredient are also approved, with several indications, including improvement of liver function in chronic liver disease, melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
On the other hand, IV infusions for cosmetic purposes or health maintenance may constitute use that differs from the approved purposes or dosage and administration, and the effects of treatment vary from person to person.
Treatment process
First, the doctor examines you and checks your current health, medical history, allergy history, current medications and other information.
We explain the treatment thoroughly and, if there are no problems, start the IV infusion.
If you notice any change in how you feel or any discomfort during the infusion, please let our staff know.

High-dose vitamin C IV infusion

What is a high-dose vitamin C IV infusion?
A high-dose vitamin C IV infusion is an IV therapy that aims to achieve high blood levels of vitamin C, which are difficult to reach through oral intake, by administering vitamin C directly into a vein.
Vitamin C is an important nutrient that acts as an antioxidant in the body and is also involved in processes such as collagen production.
At our clinic, we offer high-dose vitamin C IV infusions as self-pay treatment for cosmetic purposes and health maintenance.
About the vitamin C preparation we use

For high-dose vitamin C IV infusions, our clinic uses a vitamin C preparation manufactured by Mylan.
This preparation is a preservative-free vitamin C injection.
Because vitamin C preparations are affected by temperature, light and other factors, proper storage and handling are important for maintaining quality. The Mylan vitamin C preparation used at our clinic is shipped by air from a factory in Ireland under strict temperature control (2–8°C).
After receipt, our clinic also stores each preparation in accordance with its specified storage conditions.
Who it is for
- People who want to care for their appearance and skin condition
- People who are conscious of maintaining their health
- People concerned about irregular eating habits
- People concerned about fatigue
- People who would like to include IV therapy as part of their aging care
* How the treatment feels and its effects vary from person to person.
Features of high-dose vitamin C IV infusion
When vitamin C is taken orally, there is a limit to how much can be absorbed from the digestive tract. On the other hand, administering it directly into a vein makes it possible to achieve higher blood levels of vitamin C than with oral intake.
However, achieving high blood levels is not the same as guaranteeing any specific effect on appearance or health maintenance, and the effects of treatment vary from person to person.
Treatment process
First, the doctor examines you and checks your current health, medical history, current medications and other information.
To carry out the treatment safely, we check your kidney function and other parameters as necessary. In addition, when high doses of vitamin C are to be given, we perform a G6PD test beforehand to check whether you have G6PD deficiency.
We start the infusion after confirming that there are no problems.
If you notice any change in how you feel or any discomfort during the infusion, please let our staff know.
About G6PD deficiency
G6PD deficiency is a congenital condition in which the activity of an enzyme in red blood cells is low.
If high-dose vitamin C is given to a person with G6PD deficiency, it may cause "hemolysis," the breakdown of red blood cells.
For this reason, we perform a G6PD test before the first treatment. If you have had a G6PD test at another clinic, you can skip the test by bringing your certificate.
Fees
| Menu | Fee (tax incl.) |

- Pain or discomfort at the infusion site
- Thirst
- Headache, dizziness
- Vascular pain
- Symptoms of low blood sugar
- Temporarily feeling unwell
- Allergic symptoms (such as hives)
In rare cases, kidney dysfunction, urinary stones, hemolysis in people with G6PD deficiency and other problems may also occur.
Treatment may not be possible for people with kidney dysfunction, a history of urinary stones, iron overload or similar conditions.
In addition, after high-dose vitamin C administration, some portable (simple) blood glucose meters may show readings that differ from your actual blood glucose level. If you are being treated for diabetes or use a blood glucose meter, please be sure to tell the doctor beforehand.
