What we treat
In General Internal Medicine, we provide broad-based care for a wide range of symptoms and conditions in the field of internal medicine, including lifestyle-related diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia, as well as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, general malaise, gastrointestinal symptoms and hay fever.
Please also consult us if, for example, "I feel unwell but don't know which department to see," "an abnormality was pointed out at my health checkup," or "I would like continued care for an internal medicine condition I am currently being treated for."
At your visit, we first ask you about your symptoms and how they have developed, your daily life, your medical history, any medications you are taking and other relevant matters. We then examine you and, performing tests as necessary, look into the cause of your symptoms and provide treatment suited to your individual condition.
If, based on the examination and test results, we determine that specialized tests or treatment, or hospitalization, are needed, we will direct you to a department or medical institution appropriate for your symptoms and condition and, where necessary, refer you to a hospital that provides more advanced care.
General Internal Medicine is the department that serves as your "first point of contact" when you have concerns about your health. As a family doctor for the local community, we strive to provide attentive care for everything from everyday ailments to the management of chronic diseases.
If you have symptoms that suggest an infection, such as fever, cough or a sore throat, please use our "Fever & Infectious Disease Clinic," which is run separately from General Internal Medicine.
Please consult General Internal Medicine if you:
- Have headaches or dizziness
- Tire easily, feel sluggish or have a poor appetite
- Have gastrointestinal symptoms such as a heavy stomach, heartburn or constipation
- Have allergy symptoms such as hay fever
- Were told at a health checkup that you have abnormal results, such as in blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol or uric acid levels, or anemia
- Want to continue treatment for high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidemia or a similar condition
- Feel unwell but are not sure which department to see
Please also consult us about any other symptoms that concern you.
