What we treat

Our Fever & Infectious Disease Clinic sees patients with symptoms that suggest an infectious disease, such as a cold or influenza, including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose and chills.

To keep contact between patients with a suspected infection and patients visiting General Internal Medicine to a minimum, this clinic is run separately from General Internal Medicine.

Although it is called a "Fever Clinic," it is not only for people who have a fever. Even if you do not have a fever, please use the Fever & Infectious Disease Clinic if you have symptoms that suggest an infection, such as a cough, sore throat or runny nose.

At your visit, we ask about your symptoms, how they have progressed, whether any infections are going around among the people around you and other relevant matters, and then examine you. Where necessary, we perform tests for influenza, COVID-19 and other infections, and provide treatment based on your symptoms and test results.

If the examination suggests pneumonia or a similar condition and we determine that more detailed tests or treatment are needed, or if hospitalization is considered necessary, we will refer you to an appropriate medical institution.

If you have symptoms such as these

• Fever or low-grade fever
• Chills or feeling cold
• Cough or phlegm
• Sore throat
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Headache
• Feeling tired or sluggish all over
• Joint pain or muscle pain
• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
• Someone close to you has influenza, COVID-19 or another infection, and you also have symptoms

Even if you do not have a fever, please use the Fever & Infectious Disease Clinic if you have symptoms that suggest an infection, such as a cough or sore throat.

• COVID-19
• Infectious gastroenteritis
• Other respiratory infections and infectious diseases

If we determine that more detailed tests or specialized treatment are needed, for example for pneumonia, we will refer you to a medical institution that can provide them.

For chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia, abnormalities pointed out at a health checkup, dizziness, chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and similar concerns, please choose "General Internal Medicine."
